Privacy and Cookie Policy

1. Scope and responsible party

This policy explains how personal information is handled when you visit the Chauffeur Drive VIP website or make an enquiry about an E-Class or V-Class service. For these activities, the operator of Chauffeur Drive VIP acts as the responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you contact us, we may receive your name, telephone number, selected vehicle and service, proposed travel date and time, pickup area, destination or itinerary, and any information you choose to include in a call or WhatsApp conversation.

The website and its hosting providers may also process limited technical information such as browser type, device type, approximate location derived from an internet address, referring page, pages viewed, and security or diagnostic logs.

3. How information is used

Processing may be based on steps requested before entering into a service agreement, performance of an agreement, legal obligations, consent, or legitimate operational and security interests, as permitted by POPIA.

4. Analytics consent and cookies

Google Analytics is disabled by default. If you select Allow analytics, the site permits analytics storage and sends website-use data and lead events such as phone, WhatsApp and booking-enquiry actions to Google Analytics. Advertising storage, ad personalisation and advertising user data remain denied by default.

Your choice is stored in your browser under the local-storage key cdv-analytics-consent. Selecting Essential only records that choice without enabling analytics. You can withdraw or change consent by clearing this site's stored data in your browser and choosing again when the banner appears.

Essential technical storage may be used by the browser or hosting service to deliver, secure and maintain the website. This website does not currently claim to use advertising cookies.

5. Booking enquiries and communications

The booking form prepares a WhatsApp message on your device; it does not itself confirm a booking or take payment. When you open WhatsApp or place a telephone call, Meta, WhatsApp, your network provider and your device may process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

We do not use enquiry details for direct marketing unless there is a lawful basis and any required consent. You can object to or withdraw consent for direct marketing at any time.

6. Service providers and sharing

Information may be processed by service providers necessary to operate the website and communications, including Vercel for hosting, Google for consented analytics and fonts, content-delivery networks used for website scripts, and WhatsApp or telecommunications providers when you choose those channels. Information may also be disclosed where required by law, to protect lawful rights or safety, or to a service provider necessary for an agreed booking.

These providers may process information outside South Africa. Where POPIA applies to a cross-border transfer, appropriate legal grounds and safeguards should be used. Third-party services remain governed by their own privacy terms.

7. Retention and security

Personal information should be kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the enquiry, booking, legal obligations, dispute handling, accounting or legitimate operational records, and then securely deleted or de-identified where appropriate.

Reasonable administrative and technical measures should be used to protect information. No online transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.

8. Your rights

Subject to POPIA and applicable exceptions, you may ask whether personal information is held about you, request access or correction, ask for deletion where legally appropriate, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.

To make a privacy request, call +27 82 839 2761. Identity may need to be verified before information is released or changed. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator South Africa.

9. Children

This website is intended for adults arranging transport. It is not directed at children and does not intentionally request children's personal information through the booking form.

10. Updates and references

This policy may be updated when the website, service providers or legal requirements change. The updated date above identifies the current published draft. This policy was informed by the official Protection of Personal Information Act and Information Regulator POPIA guidance.
